Υποτροφίες σε καλλιτέχνες από το Ίδρυμα Fulbright

Υποτροφίες σε καλλιτέχνες για σπουδές στις ΗΠΑ το ακαδημαϊκό έτος 2012-2013 θα χορηγήσει το Ίδρυμα Fulbright.

Υποψηφιότητες μπορούν να υποβάλλουν καλλιτέχνες με τουλάχιστον πέντε χρόνια επαγγελµατικής δραστηριότητας, που επιθυμούν να διευρύνουν τις γνώσεις και τις επαγγελματικές τους επαφές σε πεδία όπως οι Καλές Τέχνες, οι Εικαστικές Τέχνες, η Μουσική, το Θέατρο, ο Χορός, ο Κινηματογράφος και η Ψηφιακή Τέχνη.

Οι υποτροφίες χορηγούνται για περίοδο έξη ή εννέα µηνών, µε την προϋπόθεση οι ενδιαφερόµενοι να έχουν ήδη εξασφαλίσει συνεργασία µε ακαδηµαϊκά ή πολιτιστικά κέντρα στις Ηνωµένες Πολιτείες.

Αιτήσεις υποβάλλονται στο Ίδρυμα μέχρι 1 Μαρτίου 2012.

New Program for Artists

This award is open to practicing/working artists in any field of fine arts, the visual arts, music, theatre, dance,   film making and digital arts who wish to grow a higher level of proficiency, to enhance their career, seek advancement opportunities and familiarize with the US cultural scene.  The Foundation looks for well  defined/sustainable projects that are innovative and may lead to future collaborations between the United States and Greece.  Applicants should establish an affiliation with an educational institution and/or cultural organization in the United States that will host them during their Fulbright grant period. This award is NOT for candidates seeking a degree.
Overview and Guidelines

The Fulbright Foundation in Greece will award up to three grants (the final number may change, based on funding) to  artists  to  pursue non-degree studies and conduct career-launching studying in their field in the United States. This award is open to artists  in any field of fine arts, the visual arts, music, theatre, dance,   film making and digital arts. The Foundation looks for well defined  projects that are innovative and will be impactful in the respective areas. The grant period may begin as early as September 1, 2012 and must be completed by May 31, 2013. Fulbright grants are awarded for minimum six  months. Recipients may continue their project under the Foundation’s auspices for more than six months and up to nine  months (maximum eligible period) only if funding from sources other than the Fulbright Foundation is obtained.  In that case, proof of funds is required. Applications may be submitted only if applicants have received an official letter of invitation or admission from an educational institution and/or cultural organization in the United States. This award is NOT for candidates seeking a degree. Candidates who wish to pursue a Master's degree, and meet all eligibility requirements may apply under the Greek Graduate Students Program.

Eligibility  Requirements
Greek citizenship and a valid Greek passport. Candidates with dual citizenship (U.S./Greek) or permanent residence in the United States are not eligible. Scholars will enter the United States on an Exchange Visitor (J-1) visa and are subject to the two-year home residency requirement associated with the J-1 visa.
Preference will be given to artist candidates between the ages of 28 to 45 at the time of application, with a minimum of five years professional experience in their field of work/study.
An official letter of invitation or admission from an educational institution and/or cultural organization in the United States defining project objective and project dates.
English language  fluency.
Grant  Benefits

Monthly maintenance allowance of up to U.S. $2,000. Fulbright grants are for minimum six  months .  Recipients may continue their project under the Foundation’s auspices for more than six months and up to  nine months only if funding from sources other than the Fulbright Foundation is obtained.  In that case, proof of funds is required.
Round trip travel allowance in accordance with Fulbright Travel Policies & Regulations.
Limited health and accident insurance A+SPE (for grantee only).
Introductory  orientation  program.
Pre-departure  orientation  program.
Participation in the Annual Awards ceremony.
J-1 Exchange visitor  visa.
Other benefits offered by the cooperating agency in the United States, the Institute of International Education (IIE).
Conditions

Interviews are mandatory. A Fulbright Selection Committee will interview all candidates, in person, on specified dates. All candidates will be informed of their interview appointment with the Selection Committee by email.
The Foundation's Board of Directors will review and re-evaluate the eligibility of the grant should the affiliated institution change.
Contact and affiliation agreement with US educational and/or cultural organizations is the sole responsibility of each applicant.

Preference will be given to candidates with a degree from a recognized university or institution.
Priority will be given to applicants who have not had extensive recent experience in the United States.
Fulbright grant recipients will be responsible for making their own travel arrangements in accordance with Fulbright Travel Policies & Regulations.

Projects should be implemented from September 1, 2012 to May 31, 2013.
Awards cannot be deferred to the following year.
Fulbright grant recipients must travel on a J-1 visa sponsored by the Fulbright Program. It is a condition of the visa that after completion of the non-degree  program , artists must return to Greece and reside there for two years before being eligible to immigrate or apply for permanent residence or a work permit in the United States. The purpose of the two-year home residency requirement is to ensure that exchange visitors return to their home country and fulfil the exchange objectives of the Fulbright Program. More info on:

Registration and Application Procedures
All applicants must register in person with the Greek Program Coordinator at the Fulbright Foundation in Athens. Registration will begin January 18, 2012 and conclude February 16,  2012.

No registration will be accepted beyond February 16, 2012

Following registration, applicants will be given a link to complete the online Embark Fulbright application.  Applications which have been submitted without prior registration will not be accepted.

From this year onwards the Fulbright Foundation will accept ONLY Online Embark Applications. Faxed or e-mailed or mailed copies of applications will not be accepted.

Online Embark Fulbright Application Procedure
The Fulbright Foundation accepts ONLY electronic submission of applications though the EMBARK Fulbright system. The Embark link can only be obtained after registration with the Greek Program Coordinator.
The following documents must be completed/ uploaded on the Embark online application:

Application Form
Detailed Curriculum Vitae
Certified copies of original transcript of all university grades in Greek and English, if applicable
Test scores (TOEFL or IELTS ) if applicable, into the relevant page
Letters of reference: Three letters of reference are requested as part of your Fulbright application. All candidates should register their referees to the Embark system. All candidates should inform their referees that they will need to provide online their letter of reference the latest by March 1, 2012. All three letters should be written in English. The letters of reference should be written by professors or professionals with whom you have studied or by someone who has supervised you in work related to your proposed field of work. Please ensure that both sides of the referees form are completed.
Scanned copy of your passport as well as scanned copy of any valid US visa issued within the last 4 years.
Signature Form: Upon submission of your online application you must print out, sign, and email this form to the Fulbright Program Coordinator (
greekprogram@fulbright.gr) in order to include in your file.
Artist Portfolio: Candidates should submit a portfolio to the Fulbright Foundation, 6 Vassilissis Sofias str., 10674 Athens, (attn: Greek Program Coordinator) by March 1, 2012. A portfolio that includes proof of publication, exhibitions, or public performances in Greece or abroad. Digital portfolios should be compatible with Windows 7 Professional/Microsoft office 2010. The portfolio will be reviewed by the Foundation's Selection Committee and will be returned to candidates on the day of the interview.
